Fabulous Victorian brooch and necklace gold filled set with oval topaz orange glass faceted stones, bezel set with open backs to let the light penetrate. The brooch has a particularly large stone and can double as a pendant if a chain is threaded through the fastened pin. Brooches of this kind were often gold filled, when not solid gold. Sometimes they are listed as pinchbeck, but this is not usually the case, even though the gold plate does have a very yellowy matt finish.

The necklace is a lovely complementary piece with beautifully set stones interspersed with lovely oval interlinked panels. It has a length of about 18 inches and fastens with a secure spring ring clasp. The jump ring next to the clasp is stamped 'R.F.' which I have not yet been able to identify. These pieces are in very good vintage condition.
